We are making progress in increasing attendance at our (now monthly) meeting. Thirty-two percent of our members were present (either in-person or virtually). The Community Room at the Goodman Library appears to be a good meeting location, with ample room and technical access for our virtual attendees. Our October meeting will be held there.

SCOTT reported that the vision screening at the library was moderately successful. Every kid that was in the library during the allotted time was screened. He is hoping for a larger crowd in October.

SCOTT gave an update on the upcoming flower sale, and was able to display photos of the possible bouquets. The consensus was to offer a choice of three fall bouquets and our usual rose bouquets. The price to our customers will be $25.00. The deadline for orders is November 6, and delivery is scheduled for November 20. We will try to have the delivery center at LJ's again. JODI is working on updating the order forms.

There was a good discussion about the budget for 2023-2024, which will be published soon.

Our next scheduled project is our highway cleaning. Previously, we had set the cleaning for September 16. The weather forecast for Saturday is mixed, and there might be a small chance of rain (do you remember rain?). As before, we will meet at the Park-n-Ride at the intersection of County N and County TT, just north of Cottage Grove. Bags and safety vests will be supplied, sturdy footwear, gloves, and "grabbers" are recommended. As before, cleaning will start at 8:30am.

Our next blood drive will be on January 5, again at Festival Foods. The drive will start at 10:30am, and end at 3:00pm. Please plan on donating - blood is is short supply. And volunteer to work, if you can.
