Our first meeting of the 2023-2024 year was held at the Lions Eye Bank again. There is lots of room for all of us, don't be bashful - come to the next one on August 8.

President PHIL introduced the return of starting a meeting with a invocation/prayer, along with the usual words of wisdom. We briefly looked at the correspondence, and approved the June 13 minutes (proving once again that you don't have to read them to approve them). There was some discussion on the Blood Drive and the Mallards game, both on July 20. The next highway cleaning will be on September 16 - same highway, same gathering spot. At meeting time, all that was known about Stuff the Bus was the tentative date of August 11. Since then, we have learned that it will be at HyVee East on August 19.

Guest Phil Cerniglia lead the induction of 2023-2024 officers that were present. Said officers agreed that there will be no increase in dues for the coming year, despite the modest increase in International dues. JOHN and SCOTT will draft a budget for the coming year. Everyone agreed that Thanksgiving would be okay for our flower sale. This year, there will be an additional incentive to sell - there will be a gift card raffle for those selling flowers.

SCOTT reported the results of our children's vision screening for last year. There were screenings at 10 locations, with 4 clubs, and a total of 1,343 children screened. He said that he is working with Goodman Library staff for an ongoing screening there.
