OUR NEXT MEETING will be May 10. This will be a hybrid meeting, on Google Meet http://bitly.com/MCLC-meeting (notice the lower-case m in meeting in the link), AND live-in-person at Festival Foods. Show up or tune in at 11:30am for greetings and socializing, and the meeting starts at 12:00. This is a Business meeting. If you have vital business needing attention, please convey that to the powers-that-be, so it can be on the agenda.

At our last meeting, we had some unfinished business needing immediate attention before we could get to our program. Secretary JOHN had contacted all of the 2021-22 officers. Only one replied in the negative, so the experienced slate was presented for 2022-23. President - BECKY, Vice President - MIKE, Past President - DALE, Secretary - JOHN, Treasurer - SCOTT, Tail Twister - PHIL, Directors - ROSS, TOM, TERRY, and PHIL. The slate was approved by acclamation. Left unfilled - Membership Director. Are you interested? BETTY and DALE were approved to be State Convention delegates, and ROSS and DALE approved as International Delegates. Our annual donation to WLF was approved, as well.

MELISSA reported a successful Rose delivery day. 135 bouquets were delivered (most without difficulty). Our net profit was down about 25% from 2019 - Covid still is our bane. ROSS was again top seller, out of 14 sellers. Thanks to all of the sellers, and to all of the deliverers, and a big thanks to MELISSA for keeping us on track.

JOHN reminded us to volunteer for the Brat Fest - he emailed the volunteer link. We were reminded that members can donate to LCIF's Ukraine Relief fund - donations count toward Campaign 100. We also approved a donation to The Boulders Adaptive Climbing Program. We will get a report on the results of that donation at an upcoming Program Meeting.

BETTY told us of her difficulties with Fuchs' (fewks) dystrophy, an inherited condition, where fluid builds up in the clear layer (cornea) on the front of your eye, causing your cornea to swell and thicken. This can lead to glare, blurred or cloudy vision, and eye discomfort. Fuchs' dystrophy usually affects both eyes and can cause your vision to gradually worsen over years. She has had cornea transplants to correct this. The first one was done in April of last year, and the second one in September. That one didn't work, and the third try didn't work, but the fourth one finally did. Fortune allowed PHIL to transport the first cornea. BETTY reports that her vision has improved a great deal.
