OUR NEXT MEETING will be April 26. This will be a hybrid meeting, on Google Meet, provided the AI Overlords allow it. Your link is http://bitly.com/MCLC-meeting (notice the lower-case m in meeting in the link). We'll also be live-in-person at Festival Foods, in the conference room. Show up or tune in at 11:30am for greetings and socializing, and the meeting starts at 12:00. This will be a Program meeting. BETTY INGWELL will tell us all about her recent cornea surgery. A good topic for Lions!

Our April 12 meeting was a Business meeting, but we were fortunate enough to start off the meeting with PHIL INGWELL leading the official induction of JIM THOMPSON, our newest member. JIM was inspired by SPARKY WATTS, and knew Dennis Uriche. PHIL also tried to collect some fines from various people (their offense was not clear to this reporter). MELISSA reported on the upcoming flower sale. 130 bouquets have been ordered, and (hopefully) all of the order forms have been collected. Delivery is April 25, and our operations base will be at LJ's (in the same building as Festival). Five Lions have promised to deliver, and a number of Lions have promised to pick up their own orders. Flowers are expected to arrive at 10:00am.

Centennial invitations have been sent out. The cost of the dinner will be $45 (and in a Peter pays Paul arrangement, MCLC members will get a $10 assistance). If you're planning on attending (hey, we only celebrate 100 years of service once), be sure you're registered before May 13.

Former Lion Jack Heim has requested another grant for his rock-climbing group, this one for a tent large enough for a disabled camper. JOHN suggested referring that to the Community Service committee since we did not have a quorum of Board members (where were you?).

JOHN also reported that MCLC is now registered for volunteers for the Brat Fest. He's sent a message to all members explaining how to volunteer. Each volunteer will receive $8 for every hour worked, payable to MCLC.

Incoming District Governor Al Johnson attended the meeting, happy to see a new member induction. He spoke briefly about all that we can accomplish by working together. He reminded us that officers for 2022-2023 should be elected/annointed, and officer training will be held (virtually) on May 24, June 1, and June 4. Our next Cabinet meeting will be on July 31.
