OUR NEXT MEETING, October 5, 2021, will again be another “hybrid meeting”. Some of us will meet at Festival Foods at 11:30 AM (lunch and social gabbing at 11:00). Others will attend via Zoom. See the Zoom link here: http://bitly.com/MCLC-Meeting - or - here. If you attend, you can contribute to the matters at hand, and Zoom makes it easier to keep up with what we're doing.

At our September 21 meeting, Brent Perzentka from the Council of the Blind provided us with a brief Orientation and Navigation training for white cane use. He showed us an impressive number of different canes for different needs, and explained why people moved their canes as they do. We've all observed white cane use in the wild, and now we know more about what it means to the user.

We briefly discussed White Cane Safety Day, and how we might present a public presence. Look forward to more of that discussion.

Craig Sherven came to our meeting to get an idea of what Lions, and more particularly, Madison Central Lions, do. He is looking for an opportunity to make a difference. We hope we made a good impression, and hope to see him again.
