This will be our monthly program meeting, and Brett Perzentka from the Council of the Blind will give us a brief Orientation and Navigation training for white cane use.

At our September 7 business meeting, we talked briefly about canvassing the regular highway cleanup group for the best possible date. If you're not a regular, but are willing to have a pleasant Saturday morning walk in the country (while greatly improving the local environment), contact Scott. Your presence would be greatly appriciated (yes, for this, too.)

We also talked briefly about the committee looking at our 2021-2022 Foundation Budget. Usually, the budget is based on our performance from the previous year, but the previous year was so uncharacteristic, we need to take a fresh look.

We also talked briefly about the start of our month of transporting eye tissue for the Lions Eye Bank. At the time of the meeting, only four boxes of tissue had been transported, but since then, eighteen boxes have gone to their next destination. We share the duties with Madison Monona Lioness Lions, Madison West Lions, and McFarland Lions, so there are many hands ready to travel so that others can see. Becky and Karina

President Becky said "so long" to Lion Karina from Argentina, now on her way back home after a two month stay as visiting professor and Virologist at the UW School of Veterinary Medicine. As she waited for her bus to O'Hare airport, she educated and impressed a young new UW graduate that the Covid vaccine is very safe.
