Our Next Meeting will be Tuesday, July 20, at Festival Foods. We can get together in person again (!), but the plan is to try a hybrid - those who can, be there - those who can't, we will Zoom the proceedings. Going to be a bit tricky until we get used to it. But, whatever works, right? For the Festival meeting, show up four lunch at 11:00, and the meeting will begin shortly before 11:30, in the same room as before. Problem is, we have to be out by 12:30.

For the Zoom version, a link will be forthcoming. Check in between 11:00 and 11:20, and if no answer, keep trying. We have a hybrid Program planned. Figuring all this out will take some time, but join in the adventure, in person or on screen. Just getting all this up and running is sort of a program in itself.

Our last meeting was our first attempt at hybrid, and after several attempts to overcome semi-technical problems, everyone could hear and see everyone else. Pres. BECKY led us through our usual business discussions.

Certainly meeting format, location and method will be discussed again. This is a new landscape, and everybody, our Club and others, is still working on the roadmaps. Lionism means different things to different people, but hopefully the common themes of social fellowship and service to others will continue. After reading many of the internet postings on the Lions Forum, the editor sees mostly chaos at the moment, due to that the only thing that seems universal these days is Change. And most people don't like change, but none of us here present have been thru a pandemic before, happily.

There will be a Central Madison Red Cross Blood Drive at Hotel Indigo, 901 E. Washington Ave. on next Tuesday, July 27, from 12:00 noon until 5:00 PM. Pres. BECKY and Lions PHIL, SCOTT, ROSS, and MIKE will be helping staff the event, as a service project by our Club. Stop in and donate if you can. Your blood is needed! Donate, and someone will benefit.

LCI has had an annual Peace Poster Contest for years, and this year we are trying to participate. Pres. BECKY has us partnering with the Boys and Girls Club of Madison to have a local contest, and produce a submission to the Lions International Contest. We will hear and see more about this at our meeting.

Remember, you now have the unique choice of meeting on the ground in person, or virtually (note - we are all virtuous. “Virtual” is different.). Just get there, one way or another!
