EXTRA!    EXTRA!    EXTRA!

READ ALL ABOUT IT!

With these headlines from the past, which none of you remember, we begin an Extra Issue of the legendary Lions Tale! In the old days, newsboys with their newspapers in canvas sacks slung on their shoulders scattered through downtown streets, crying out that important things were happening and they had the information. Now, we're just trying to get the word out that:

THE APRIL, 2020 “ROSE DAY” FLOWER SALE BY AND FOR MADISON CENTRAL LIONS CLUB IS CANCELLED!!!

In these unprecedented days, we cannot be sure we can deliver flowers. Restrictions on travel probably make the whole idea illegal, as well as impractical. And, unfortunately, people have a lot of pressing concerns in their lives that make our best fund-raiser seem unimportant at the moment. Surely better days are ahead, and we hope not to have to resurrect the Fruit Cake Sale, but for now, THE FLOWER SALE WILL NOT GO ON.

Those who have already sold flowers should notify buyers that the sale is cancelled. We doubt that anyone will be surprised. They do have the option to donate their proposed purchase $$$ dollars to our service fund, or, if they have prepaid, they can request and receive a refund. In some cases, depending on the circumstances, paid orders might be deliverable.

Planning is in the works to arrange and carry out “digital meetings,” involving internet technology well beyond the Editor's ability to describe. Be on the lookout for further e-mails explaining what is going to happen, and how to participate. You should have already received an invitation. DO NOT DELETE that invitation - you will need the information contained in it to participate in the April 7 meeting from the safety of your home.

In the meantime, observe the precautions, stay calm, and stay as safe as you can!
