Next Meeting - Tuesday January 7, on the Mezz at Festival Foods, at 11:30 AM as usual. This is our Business/Board Meeting for the month, and it appears that at the moment there's much not New Business to discuss. The New Year is here, but it hasn't gotten very far along, yet.

No doubt whatever business IS discussed, the proceedings will have the benefit of 2020 vision. Certainly appropriate for Lions, since vision is one of our most important service areas.

One item is the decision for Lion Pres. DALE to share the draft version of the Meeting Agenda with the full membership. This is one of those electronic things that the Editor approaches warily, but Publisher SCOTT may be able to notify members in the near future.

The only item presently listed is a review of policy on overdue dues payments. This subject probably came up at the second or third meeting that MCLC had, and it has been a frequent entry ever since. Some problems never go away. Suffice it to say that somewhere in our policies and procedure it says something like “Club membership must be terminated by written letter of resignation. Continuous non-attendance or nonpayment of dues do not constitute resignation.” We hate to lose members but we do need to know who's still with us, and we need to meet International, State, and District dues payments. Remember, Lions overhead is paid by dues from Lion members, and donations go entirely 100% to our charitable causes.

There are a number of Old Business items that may have some new information. We have a budget hole because there was no fund-raiser last Fall, we need to find someplace to hold a Bags Tournament, we are considering the adoption of some method/process of remote electronic voting, and our Club Centennial will occur in 2022 and we should start planning for it.

So, HAPPY NEW YEAR, and let's get started on it!
