Next Meeting - Tuesday May 21, 2019, on the Mezz at Festival Foods, at 11:30 AM as usual. This is our Program Meeting for May, and the speaker will be from RENEW Wisconsin, a nonprofit organization that educates about and promotes renewable energy including solar power and wind power.

MadiSUN is a City-led initiative administered by RENEW Wisconsin that provides education and financial incentives for home-owners, landlords, and business-owners in Madison to install rooftop solar electric systems. The speaker will give us information on the MadiSUN program and be available to answer questions. Note the words “financial incentives”, because it sounds as though somebody might put up some of the cost of solar panels on your roof, which should certainly be of interest. Besides the possibility of saving you some money and helping the environment, this might keep your TV on until the repair crews arrive if some drunk takes out the power pole down on the corner. It is not shocking to learn that DALE BURMESTER is the Program Host.

The Lions Eye Bank of Wisconsin and the McFarland Lions, are offering a free eye screening for adults and/or children on Thursday, May 30 from 4-7 PM at the Eye Bank. It is open to the public. If you know anyone who may need or a want a screening, tell them about this opportunity.

At the last meeting, we got the usual detailed report on our flower sales:

Money Report: 185 units of flowers, 31 red, 55 mixed roses, 99 mixed flowers. That's down about 10% from last year. Net proceeds: about $1,900.

Top 10 sellers: CRAIG, ROSS, JIM S, MELISSA, MICHELLE, JOHN , LINDA, GAIL, SCOTT, STEVE.

Delivery: Bernie, CRAIG, David York, GAIL, JIM S, JOHN, LINDA, MICHELLE, MIKE, ROSS, SCOTT, and DALE B.

Delivery Day: some folks had difficulty finding LJ's back door, despite the four signs posted liberally.

Reminder: payment is due ASAP to SCOTT.

The Board approved a Melvin Jones for Johnny Kavanaugh, owner of LJ's, for his generous assistance. Secretary JENSON to order. When it arrives, we will have mass presentation.

It was reported that the Highway Cleanup went off as rescheduled, on May 11. JOHN, ROSS, David, MIKE, DALE M, and SCOTT picked up everything in sight. Conditions were close to ideal - not too hot, not too cold, not raining, and the wind was not too strong. Eleven bags were gathered, along with some other incidental stuff too big for bagging. Start time was 8:30, and we were done by 10:30. Unfortunately, nothing of great interest was found.
