Next Meeting - Tuesday Feb.19, 2019, on the Mezz at Festival Foods, at 11:30 AM as usual. Our Program Meeting for February, and we will hear \ Sue Nelson from the Braille Library. The program was arranged by ADAM GROSSNICKLE, and while we all know what Braille is, most of us probably don’t even know there is a Braille Library, so this is how we find out where it is, who runs it, and what they do. The editor thinks he recalls our Club providing them with some needed equipment in the past, so we may hear about that too.

At our last meeting, VP DALE BURMESTER opened the meeting, with a somewhat disparaging quote about the weather forecasting of the groundhog, with which the Editor agrees. (But we don’t think anyone forecast anything as miserable as the weather we’ve had this February. We are starting to run out of places to put the snow, the Editor’s Christmas tree disappeared under a pile of snow on the terrace last month and likely won’t be seen again until April, and the brass monkeys have been wearing snowpants.) However our Man of All Seasons SCOTT GROVER reports that the forecast for next Tuesday is tolerable. Our new TailTwister KATIE PARADIS had a string of questions relating to the Chinese New Year, some of which were answered by the 7 Lions in attendance and some not.

It was reported that we received “Thank You” communications for the Club’s contribution to WLF in memory of the late Lion WALT PRIDHAM from WLF and also from Karen Pridham, WALT’s widow.

We were reminded that next month, March, is our Tissue Transport month for the Lions Eye Bank of Wisconsin. The missions are the same as usual, except that the Eye Bank has a new location, with reserved parking spots for transporters near the appropriate entrance to the building.

Rose Day was announced as April 22. The project is in need of a Chairman. It is expected that the mechanics and prices for the sale will be similar to last year.

Drinks With The Easter Bunny is tentatively set for April 6, probably at LJ’s. The timing is in the middle of our Rose Sale, which may be either good or bad, depending on the crowd. More discussion and working out of details will follow.

Highway Cleanup will be on April 27. If it is not snowing.

March 9 and 10 is our District 27D-1 Convention, in Middleton.

April 17-19 is the State (Multiple District 27) Convention in Wisconsin Dells. PDG JODI and her faithful squire DALE are still tirelessly crisscrossing the state for Lions meetings in preparation for that one.
