Next Meeting - Tuesday, May 15, on the Mezz at Festival Foods, at 11:30 AM as usual. This is our Program Meeting for May, and it comes as early as it can get. Our program will be speakers from United Health Care, who serve millions of people from their earliest years through their working lives and into retirement. What unites them is their mission to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone. Through programs like chronic disease management, HouseCalls and MyAdvocate, UnitedHealth Care Medicare Solutions offers options to help seniors around Southern WI access more than just healthcare services.

Local Medicare and Retirement Manager, Janelle Sharp and Local Medicare Advisor, Leigh Maxwell will be here to discuss the development and strengthening of their local Team in Dane County which provides education to the community on Medicare benefits, prescriptions savings programs and more! Learn how you can partner with UnitedHealth Care and share in the mission of helping people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone.

At our last meeting there were a lot of other things to discuss. Since our District Governor's term still has a month and a half to go, we will find out what she has left to dash through, and then she can relax, draw a deep breath, and........ start her term as Chairman of Council of Governors so she can guide the whole State for a year, not just one District out of ten. At this point the Editor is thinking “Sheesh!” but it is probably not a stately enough term to use in print.

The meeting opened with Words about May Day - “May Day is a public holiday usually celebrated on May 1. It is an ancient northern hemisphere spring festival and a traditional spring holiday in many cultures. Dances, singing, and cake are usually part of the festivities.” Used to be a big deal at UW Madison, too.
