Our next meeting will be Tuesday, February 20, and the program will feature Brent Perzentka, the Council of the Blind Store Manager. Usual time, usual place. (For those of you not taking notes, that would be 11:30, on the Mezz, at Festival Foods. If you're lunching, arrive at 11:00.)

The meeting was called to order by President KEVIN. Our TailTwister was MIA . along with the Lion. DALE B delivered our Words of Wisdom - “The groundhog is like most other prophets; it delivers its prediction and then disappears.” ~ Bill Vaughn.

Next item up was our upcoming Flower Sale, delivery date scheduled for April 23. The distribution location is still TBD. [After the meeting, SCOTT conferred with Kevin (the Festival Kevin), and arranged to use part of the Festival Food parking area. Convenient central location, easy in and out, and the flowers will be close to your car!]

Next was a discussion about our Bags Board Rentals. The UW Madison club would like to borrow/rent for "free". Our "policy" is to charge $5/set + $25 delivery (if needed, in Dane County) + security deposit (TBD). There was some concern that renting for "free" might set a bad precedent. JOHN is to draft a contract.

District Convention registration has started. If you're interested, contact JOHN immediately.

KATIE is planning our Scavenger Hunt. This will be city-wide, and will involve our areas of service. The River Food Pantry, craft stores, Mini of Madison and a park have been secured, and as every Lion project does, will end at a bar. There are no set dates yet. KATIE has a descriptive sheet to bring to businesses. She will send a write-up blurb out to members to educate us further on the event.

We returned to the District Convention, and purchasing a program ad. JOHN suggested that, at $50/page, we purchase 1 page for the club, and 1 page congratulating DG JODI for her efforts to date. The Board members present approved 2 pages for total of $100. In a change from previous years, there will be no scheduled events on Friday night, but Saturday will be full of activities, and Sunday as well.

Spring Bags Tournament possible dates are May 12 (day before Mother's day), and May 19. SCOTT will check with the Oregon/Brooklyn club and HeadQuarters for the best date. [SCOTT passed these dates along to the Oregon/Brooklyn club at their meeting Tuesday evening, and they are consulting with HeadQuarters.]

Cycle for Sight is coming. GAIL has sign-up sheet for donations. Talk to her if you're interested. JOHN registering a team for donations, possibly without riders.

District Governor Updates - our fearless duo will be at the 27D2 convention in Warrens, WI on Jan 27. DALE B and Jim Knoll (GB) were recent bag toss champions. JODI and DALE were to make a Mineral Point club visit, but it was canceled due to snow. They will be going to the Winners Circle Club at the Coliseum Bar, and have scheduled club visits for West Grant, Middleton/Cross Plains, and Muscoda. There will be a meeting for the Madison Area Clubs on forming a Diabetes Club and Club Growth at Burmester's on Feb 15. Feb 16-17 will find them at the 27A2 convention in Port Washington.

We learned that Gov. Walker will be signing a state resolution @ the capital marking April is "Eyeglass Recycling Month" in WI.
