Next Meeting - April 18, 2017 , Tuesday noon, at the Coliseum Bar & Restaurant, as usual. Not sure there'll be a formal program, but for sure there will be discussion of Rose Day, which is next Monday, April 24. The Coliseum Bar will be the depot, and, as always, help is needed for delivery. Even if you can only take a few, stop by and help out. There are always a few outliers that are a mission by themselves, or require somebody who knows the neighborhood, in addition to those going on routes and/or bunches, so any and all levels of help are needed.

At the last meeting, Pres. MIKE rang the bell to quell the multitudes, and not surprisingly the first to be unquelled was LINDA BERGREN, who shared the secret that there are still a few Holiday Treats to be disposed of. Nuts, (cashews, almonds and such, not Lions), the ever-popular Malted Milk Balls, maybe a fruit cake or two - let's get these gone. It is definitely not true that a malted milk ball in a rose vase improves the life of the flower, but one in the tummy of a deliverer definitely prolongs the energy of the messenger.

Speaking of energy, the editor was cleaning out some old files recently, and came upon a Program from October 16, 1993, for the Sherman Middle School Leo Club Charter Night. Mistress of Ceremonies was Lion JODI BURMESTER, now our District Governor-Elect. Others on the program, JIM SCHUTZ, ROSS ROYSTER, RICK DALUGE, TERRY SCHAR and PHIL INGWELL.

Rose Day notes from last meeting - Prices are the same as last year, $20 for Spring Flowers and $25 for Roses. Turn in white and yellow copies of the order form and keep the pink.

We will be doing Highway Cleanup again. Soon. Sometime. As in April 29. Nine volunteers needed to be wildly successful.

The Lions present elected our 2017-2018 officers and board members by acclamation (we'll get used to them by acclimation) - KEVIN OLSEN, President; DALE BURMESTER, Vice President; MIKE KNOWLTON, Past President; JOHN JENSON, Secretary and LCIF Director; SCOTT GROVER, Treasurer; ADAM GRASSNICKLE, Tale Twister; CRAIG BUTLER, Membership; LINDA BERGREN, GAIL STIRR, and ROSS ROYSTER, Board Members.

The meeting ended without further ceremony - the closing bell was Pres. MIKE's phone going off. It ended by whatever the opposite of acclamation is.
