Next Meeting - Tomorrow, Tuesday noon, Jan. 17, at noon,at the Coliseum Bar & Restaurant, as usual. Our program will be a report of sorts from the River Pantry on how they are doing, and presentations of our Club's donation to the River Pantry, plus the donations members remember to bring to the meeting, if they can get there. The ice should have been salted down by tomorrow noon. Donations of food or $$ will be gratefully accepted and presented.

Our last meeting was a Business Meeting, but there was a paucity of business to discuss, so a goodly amount of Lion socializing was the order of the day. It seems that only one table's worth of Lions had enough left after the Holidays to get to the meeting, but they soldiered on. DALE B said that both he and DGE JODI would be attending the 5M5 meeting in Minneapolis (we have no idea what 5M5 is, but we assume it's some District designation). The State Bowling tournament will be in DeForest on January 28, the next Cabinet meeting will be on January 22 in Cross Plains.

There was one noteworthy event - two visitors appeared to join us for lunch, Crisbel Alvarez and Dayhanara DiGianCroce, a mother and daughter (Lion and Leo) from Venezuala, are visiting the area and found our meeting. They will be attending the International Convention in Chicago. We convinced them to return for our next meeting. Crisbel spoke a little English, Dayhanara not so much, but fortunately, ROSS remembers a lot of Portuguese, and was able to translate for everyone. Crisbel showed a remarkable memory by reciting our names. Very interesting visitors! (The editor thinks Venezuelans speak Spanish, but apparently that is close enough to Ross's Portuguese from Brazil that he could close the gap.)

Bring a donation for the River Pantry to the meeting tomorrow. There is more of a need than most of us realize.
