Holiday Greetings!

This is just a flick of the Lions Tale - an “EXTRA!” issue, if you will. If we said “Extra, Extra, Read All About IT', most of you would be too young to know what we're talking about, anyway.

The next formal meeting isn't until 2017, and there will be a Tale to tell before then. But we did have the December business meeting on 12/6, a dozen Lions showed up, and as predicted the only real business was the Holiday Treat Sale. A lot of the orders were picked up, and also as predicted, LINDA has some extra stock available. Cashews, Mixed Nuts, Cranberries, Chocolate Almonds, Sweet & Salty Mix, the ever-popular Malted Milk Balls, and perhaps a Fruit Cake or two. (Enjoy A Piece of History!! Madison Central Lions Fruit Cake! None Better!) Linda will have stock at the party - take some home.

Your Board of Directors has included the River Food Pantry in our donation list. Accordingly, we will be collecting non-perishable food items at the Holiday Party and at both of our meetings in January. Generally, people tend to forget about giving after the holidays are said and done, but hunger shows no season. Our donations will be most welcome in January.

The Holiday Party is tomorrow night at Angelo's. Scott's message covered the essentials, but a reminder that it will also be one big Lion Birthday party (bring small gift), to celebrate our years of service. Spouses, significant others, prospective members are welcome. The Club foots the bill for the appetizers/finger food, and there's a cash bar. Starts at 5:30, and ends when the last Lion goes home.

See you tomorrow night!
