Next Meeting - Tuesday, June 20, at noon. At the Coliseum Bar & Restaurant, as usual. This is our Program Meeting for June, and GAIL STIRR is the Program Host. She will introduce Loretta Himmelsbach, Executive Director of the Wisconsin Council of the Blind and Visually Impaired, whose subject title will be “Everyone Sees Differently.”

She will talk about what the Council does and the services it provides, as well as sharing photos that advance understanding of what people with “normal” vision see in comparison to what people see when they have severe macular degeneration, Retinitis Pigmentosa, cataracts, glaucoma, or diabetic retinopathy.

The editor missed the last meeting, so what follows is mostly the work of new Ace Reporter JACK HEIM, with contributions from Publisher and Editorial Associate SCOTT GROVER.

Apparently there weren't any opening or closing formalities at the last meeting, which, after all, was a business meeting. But somebody must have cracked the whip and waved the chair (reference to old-time circus, for those too young) because there were a lot of announcements:

We are having a raffle, drawing date scheduled for July 30, and with some great prizes: 1st prize - Packers/Bears tickets; 2nd prize - UW/Nebraska tickets; 3rd prize - Brewers tickets, incl parking; 4th prize - Mallards tickets. Details to follow. Only three hundred tickets, so be prepared.

Cornhole Tournament, Saturday, July 30, 12:00 Noon, Coliseum Bar, 222 E. Olin Ave. Rain or shine. Competition top prize $200.00, amateur top prize $100.00. There will also be a silent auction. No word on what will be auctioned, which usually means that a request for donations will follow.

Stuff The Bus is scheduled for August 13. Volunteers will be needed so sign up here: http://lions-serve.org/volunteer.html.

Concert In the Park
Saturday, June Monday, July 18, Warner Park
We need volunteers to serve brats, hot dogs, and ice cream. This is a NESCO event, and they need help with the food stand. It's fun, sort of like the old UW athletic events, and while the money made goes to NESCO, we get street cred for helping out.
