Next Meeting, sort of, our Golf Outing tomorrow. Forecast doesn't include rain, so we should be good to go. The Golf Dinner following the event will also be our regular meeting for this week, and the golf is the program, so with that and the raffle there will be things to do and talk about. Golf activities to start at 11:30am, and the dinner activities at 5:00pm.

There will be NO meeting this Tuesday noon.

At our last meeting, Pres. JACK presided, and we had an invocation provided by the multi-talented SCOTT GROVER. The TailTwister went on a search for the marbles he had given out at a previous meeting. Gave the Editor a chance to prove that he hadn't lost his marbles after all, but apparently the LIBERTY belle had lost one of hers, so Lion CHARLIE gallantly paid for TRISH. Don't know whether CHARLIE had his or not. Apparently TOM STEVENS tried to slip a different marble into the game but didn't get away with it.

The Coliseum Bar must have Royalist leanings, because we had bright pink napkins at the lunch tables. Had to have been in honor of the (then) recent arrival of Her Highness, Princess Charlotte of Cambridge.

We got a “Thank You” letter from the UW Hospital's Early Mobility Grant Fund, for our Community Service Committee's donation to their “Go, Baby, Go” program. Sounds like we need a program to explain that one, but the ponderous title and expeditious slogan give us some clues. We Serve in all sorts of ways.

SCOTT reported that we pulled off the Highway Cleanup Program, collecting 6 large bags of trash from the mile or two of road that we patrolled. Junk included an I-Pad, but so few golf balls this time that one of the Lions just threw them back onto the golf course - there weren't enough to supply the Golf Outing. Enjoying the cleanup were LINDA BERGREN, ANN CAROTHERS, SCOTT GROVER, JOHN JENSON, MIKE KNOWLTON, and David York. (Isn't it time for David to become a Lion?)

We recently did a Vision Screening at the NESCO Senior Health program at Warner Park. Probably be some mention of that one at the Golf Dinner, because the Golf Outing helps support our sight-saving programs.

MELISSA NOVINSKI gave a brief update on Rose Day - about $3500 net profit, including about $1100 still to come in.

PHIL INGWELL thanked the Club for the card which was included with others in the “Mail Call” which was held on the return flight of the recent Badger Honor Flight, on which he was one of those honored. We should hear more about that at next month's program meeting, because PHIL's going to be the program.

LINDA BERGREN reminded all present of the golden opportunity presented by our Golf Outing Raffle. There might be a few tickets left - snap 'em up tomorrow!
