Next Meeting, Tues. March 17. At the Coliseum Bar, second floor, noon. CRAIG BUTLER is the Program Host for that day, and he has announced that the speaker will be Nicole Willliams from Wisconsin Make A Wish Foundation. Electronics wizard SCOTT GROVER will provide the projector, which gets him the honor of introducing the speaker. We all think we know what Made A Wish does, and we will find out for sure this coming Tuesday. We expect that Pres. JACK, aided by McGee (who should also have a title - Sergeant At Arms, perhaps -) will run the meeting.

At our last meeting, Pres. JACK opened the meeting, and with a full-sized Flag on display we gave the Pledge of Allegiance and proceeded to the business at hand, of which there was a considerable amount. Connie from Felly's was there with the info on our upcoming Rose Day sale. We will have three bouquets to offer, as before - Red Roses, Rainbow Roses (mixed colors), and Mixed Colors Spring Flowers, at the same prices as last year. $25.00 each for the roses, and $20.00 for the mixed flowers. Vases will again be available at $5.00. The order blanks are on hand - pick yours up at the next meeting. There's an order blank on our website, too (look for the Flower Day in the menu). VISA and Master Card will be accepted. Felly's would like to have the number of bouquets by April 1, so sooner is better.

Every year, the same proclamation: FILL OUT THE ORDER BLANK COMPLETELY, and give explicit directions for delivery. We want the flowers in the right place at the right time, so help out the delivery person with Delivery Instructions that actually direct the delivery to the right place!! April 20 is Rose Day!

John Jenson reminded us of the upcoming District 27-D1 Convention at the Marriott in Middleton, which is going on as this is written. JODI BURMESTER is expected to be endorsed as 2nd Vice District Governor, and we'll probably get a full report at our next meeting. The State Convention will be May 15-16 at Fontana, and there's still time to sign up with JOHN for that one.

This is our Eye Tissue Transport month, and there were 14 runs in the first few days so we're off to a good start. If you'd like to join the Corps of Transporters, talk to SCOTT GROVER.

We have Vision Screening sessions set for March 25 at the Madison Central Library, and May 8 at NESCO, at Warner Park. Help is needed, both trained screeners and Lions to serve as Event Managers.

Highway Cleanup is intended to be in April, and with this week's departure of most of the snow, it now seems possible. Get ready to help out with this one - it usually takes a couple hours on a Saturday morning, and in addition to the satisfaction of service, we hear you can usually replenish your supply of used golf balls.

There are still some nuts left over from our Holiday Treat Sale, and some treats as well. (We always have nuts, especially the mixed-up ones.) Trail Mix, Chocolate Cranberries, Mixed Nuts, Almonds, Chocolate Peanuts, and the immortal Fruit Cakes. Get 'em at the next meeting, or call LINDA BERGREN.

Our Golf Outing is set for May 18th, at Cherokee Country Club. It is likely you won't need the snowshoes, but we do need more golfers! (Or at least people who will circle the course in pursuit of the elusive small white ball.) Our profits for our service funds depend on participation, and sponsors, prize donors and the ubiquitous raffle tickets, so talk this one up to your golfing friends.

It should be pointed out that last month's Organ Concert, performed at Overture Hall on the Klais Organ by renowned English organist Thomas Trotter, was sponsored by Lion WALT PRIDHAM and his wife, Karen. Around 1500 people enjoyed a wonderful musical evening - thank you, PRIDHAMs!!

Officer and Director elections for MCLC are coming up. If you'd like to lead, here's your chance to volunteer. As in other situations, if you don't volunteer you'll likely be drafted, so pick your spot.

A tip of the cap to SCOTT GROVER, for providing the Editor with a subject list for the meeting, to help out the non-working ears.
